Apollo has four plans: Free ($0, 75 credits a seat a month), Basic ($65 a seat a month, 2,500 credits), Professional ($99, 4,000 credits) and Organization ($119 a seat a month, billed annually only, 3 seats minimum, 72,000 credits a seat a year). Billed yearly, Basic is $49 and Professional $79. A verified email costs 1 credit and a phone number 8, so an email costs 2 to 2.6 cents on a paid seat. A list of 5,000 contacts takes two Basic seats, $130 for the month; sending each of them 3 emails within that month takes 28 mailboxes on 6 domains, which is $70 a month with Outreach2day plus $78 a year for domains.

Prices below are from apollo.io/pricing and Apollo's knowledge base, checked October 14, 2026. Our own figures come from the capacity model behind the cold email capacity calculator.

  • Exporting saved contacts to a CSV uses no credits. Net-new people selected from search are saved first, and "each net-new person with a verified email uses 1 credit"

  • Apollo charges for one verified email per contact, even when it returns several

  • Credits also pay for warmup, domains and mailboxes bought in Apollo

  • Unused credits expire at the end of each billing cycle, plan credits and add-on credits alike

  • Extra credits are bought on a slider in the app, renew every cycle until removed, and their price is not published on the pricing page

What One Contact Costs in Apollo

Cost per verified email = seat price ÷ credits per seat. For Basic on monthly billing: $65 ÷ 2,500 = $0.026.

What It Costs to Send to 5,000 or 20,000 Apollo Contacts

A list is half the job. To email it you need verified addresses, mailboxes on domains that are not your main one, two weeks of warmup, and enough mailboxes that none of them sends more than about 25 cold emails a day. Here is the full bill for sending every contact 3 emails within one month (22 sending days), at list prices with monthly billing.

Each next month with a fresh list

How the lines are worked out:

  1. Data. Credits are pooled, so two Basic seats hold 5,000 credits. For 20,000, five Professional seats ($495) cost less than eight Basic seats ($520).

  2. Verification. Apollo charges only for emails it marks as verified, but a list ages between export and send. A second check right before the campaign costs $35 for 5,000 at Bouncer on pay as you go, and $0.006 each from 10,000. Outreach2day does not sell or verify data.

  3. Mailboxes. Each costs $2.50 a month with warmup and the sequencer included. 682 emails a day at 25 per mailbox is 28 mailboxes; 5 mailboxes per domain is 6 domains. The 20,000 list needs 110 mailboxes on 22 domains.

  4. Time. Warmup runs 14 days before the first cold email, then the list goes out over 22 sending days.

The calculator near the top of this post does the same sizing for any daily volume and carries the result into sign-up: "Create N mailboxes" opens the order with that number of mailboxes and domains, and "Email me this plan" sends it to your inbox. A list of more than about 180,000 contacts a month needs 1,000 mailboxes or more; from 1,000 mailboxes we quote a volume price on a call (book it below).

Sending From Apollo Itself

Apollo includes sequences on every plan, but its limits decide whether it can send a 5,000-contact list:

  • Free and Basic send up to 250 emails a day and link 1 mailbox per user. At 682 a day that is three seats' worth of daily sends, and each seat sends from a single mailbox

  • Professional removes the daily cap and links unlimited Google and Microsoft mailboxes plus 5 IMAP/SMTP mailboxes per user; Organization raises SMTP to 15 per user

  • Warmup covers 1 mailbox per seat; each extra mailbox costs 200 credits every 30 days (Apollo help, read October 9, 2026)

  • Domains bought in Apollo cost 1,500 credits a year and mailboxes 300 to 1,500 credits a month, paid from the same pool as contacts

Instantly vs Apollo prices Apollo as a sender at 1,000 to 10,000 emails a day, and Apollo alternatives lists the sequencers people move to.

Apollo vs Clay, Lusha and ZoomInfo

For emails alone, Apollo's paid seats work out to 2 to 2.6 cents a contact. Clay charges 0.5 data credit per work email found plus actions, from $185 a month; Lusha charges 1 credit per email from $49.90 a month; ZoomInfo does not publish prices. Clay vs Apollo prices 5,000 and 20,000 contacts in both, side by side.

Import an Apollo List Into Outreach2day

Export the contacts as a CSV, keep the verified emails, and import the file into an Outreach2day campaign: every column becomes a variable. The Apollo import steps list the export fields to keep. If you send from Instantly or Smartlead, export the mailboxes there instead and keep your sequencer. Before the first send, read why bounce rates climb and what to do about it.
