Mailscale vs Mailforge: two ways to buy shared-IP SMTP inboxes

Both sell their own SMTP/IMAP inboxes on IPs shared between customers, export them to your sequencer and leave warmup to another product. Mailscale sells plans of 15, 50 and 200 inboxes with a 7-day trial; Mailforge sells slots from $3 down to $2 a month with the Forge MCP server. Neither refunds.

Cost at 15, 50 and 200 inboxes

15 inboxes: Mailscale Solopreneur is $79 a month. Mailforge is $45 (15 slots at $3; the 10 base slots stay at $3).

50 inboxes: Mailscale Business is $119 (or $149 on the second price table in its app). Mailforge is $150.

200 inboxes: Mailscale Enterprise is $249. Mailforge is $591 on monthly billing: 110 slots at $3 and 90 at $2.90. On yearly billing Mailscale is $199 a month and Mailforge falls to between $1.67 and $2.50 a slot.

Domains are extra on both: $10 to $15 a year at Mailscale, $14 at Mailforge, which also charges $2 a domain a month for SSL and domain masking. Add a sequencer and, at Mailforge, Warmforge for warmup.

Where they differ

Warmup and sending

Neither includes warmup in the inbox price. Mailscale's help center tells you to warm up for 2 to 3 weeks in Instantly or Smartlead. Mailforge points to Warmforge, a separate Forge subscription, and to Salesforge for sending.

Mailscale allows 30 campaign emails per inbox a day and up to 5 inboxes per domain. Mailforge recommends 30 a day (100 at most) and 2 to 3 mailboxes per domain, so it needs more domains for the same inbox count.

Trial, refunds, API

Mailscale's self-serve sign-up shows a 7-day free trial; Mailforge has none. Neither refunds: Mailscale's policy rules out refunds for any reason, and Forge asks you to cancel by chat 7 days before the term ends.

Mailforge runs on the shared Forge MCP server and API. Mailscale publishes no API and we found no MCP server. Details: Mailscale review, Mailforge review.

Where Outreach2day fits

We sell cold email mailboxes too, so this section is ours. The comparison above does not rank us.

Both leave you paying for a sequencer and a warmup tool on top. Outreach2day mailboxes are SMTP/IMAP too, at $2.50 with warmup for the life of the mailbox and our own sequencer in that price: 15 mailboxes are $37.50, 50 are $125. Our REST API and MCP server cover domains, mailboxes, warmup and campaigns, and the mailboxes also sync to Instantly and Smartlead.

From 1,000 mailboxes Outreach2day quotes a volume price below the per-mailbox list price of every vendor in our comparisons, including Maildoso's $0.49, with warmup and sending in the price. Book a call and we quote your volume.
